BLUE RIBBON LODGING ASSOCIATION BUSINESS CHECKLIST
The following items are the Lodging Standards Approved by The Blue Ribbon Lodging Association: HEALTH/CLEAN, SAFETY AND TRUTH IN ADVERTISING.
Prospective Lodging Members must provide the Lodging Inspector with the proper permits and licenses when required:
Inspection checklist:
- Approved septic systems
- Approved water system
- Approved fire extinguishers
- Smoke detectors (monthly)
- Fireplaces cleaned (annually)
- Doors/windows operational and will lock
- Decks, porches, steps/handrails are safe
- Entrances, walks, steps have adequate lighting
- Hot tubs, pools, and Jacuzzi’s clean and have appropriate health warning signs posted
- Emergency phone numbers and procedures and medical facility locations posted
- Facility address is well marked county reflective
- Facility outside area clear of debris and clutter
- Inside areas clean and free from odors
- Owner/manager is advertising truthfully, including website
- All bed taxes are up to date
- Are there any written complaints on file at the Hocking Hills Tourism Association
- HHTA member good standing
- Appropriate licenses and permits posted
Required to keep maintenance records on the following items:
- Batteries smoke detectors
- Fireplace maintenance
- Fire extinguisher service
- Hot tubs and Jacuzzi maintenance records
